Discover Your Past with Professional Family Tree Research
Begin your journey into the past with expert Family Tree Research, tailored to uncover the rich tapestry of your ancestry. Starting with the names and birth years of your parents and grandparents, I use verified historical records—such as birth, marriage, and census data—to reveal your family’s story. These records, when combined with thoughtful analysis, form the basis of a clear and accurate lineage.
How far do you want to go back?
Crucially, this research can go as far back as your four-times great-grandparents and can include uncles, aunts, and cousins where requested. At every step, I aim to bring forgotten lives back into view while highlighting the historical moments that shaped them. Whether your ancestors stayed rooted or travelled abroad, their movements are carefully traced and mapped.
A Detailed Process Rooted in Accuracy
Throughout the Family Tree Research, I document each individual with precision—ensuring names, dates, relationships, and locations are all recorded. Importantly, every piece of information is backed by official sources. Whenever possible, I include newspaper articles, location maps from census years, and other relevant documents that add colour to the facts.
Although historical records can be difficult to interpret, I use years of experience to work around faded text, name changes, or conflicting entries. Moreover, I apply advanced search techniques to ensure no branch is left unexplored. As the tree grows, so too does your understanding of the lives that came before you.
Bringing Your Family’s Story to Life
Once your Family Tree Research is complete, you will receive a professionally compiled family tree—fully annotated and supported by a detailed research pack. This includes all key findings, documents, and notes on any uncertainties or alternate spellings discovered along the way.
In addition, I provide access to an interactive platform via the ‘Your Ancestors’ website. Here, you can explore your family tree online, at your own pace. This user-friendly tool allows you to revisit your findings and share them with loved ones with ease. As a result, your heritage becomes a living, accessible record for generations to enjoy.

Who’s Who On Your Family Tree?
How your direct descendants (Father, Mother, Grandfather, Grandmother etc) are related to you is fairly straightforward but when it comes to Cousins, knowing who’s who can be confusing.
Let me explain…
The son or daughter of your Uncle and Aunt is your First Cousin. Your Second Cousin is the Grandson or Granddaughter of your Grand Uncle and Grand Aunt with your Third Cousin being the Great Grandson or Great Granddaughter.
Get the picture or perhaps you are still not sure? Don’t worry if you are still confused. Take a look at the Cousins Chart on the left for an explanation or click on the button to download a pdf version.
Census Maps
One of the things I create as part of my family tree research are census maps. The maps shows where your ancestors lived at the time of each census. On each map I seperate where your paternal and maternal ancestors lived by different coloured markers.
When a census does not indicate a house number or the building no longer exists, I enter (approx). If a whole street no longer exists, you will find red lines indicating where it used to be. Please take a look at the photo on the right to see what I am referring to.
Although I record paternal and maternal ancestors on a census map, for a an extra fee I can indicate where in-laws used to live as well as provide photos of a particular house or area.

Family Tree Research
I became interested in family history approximately 4 years ago and as the research has become more extensive so did my interest in geneaology as a whole. My interest in geneaology has developed into being able to offer an extensive family history service to anyone who is interested.
The family tree research service I provide not only shows who your ancestors were, but where they lived at the time of a census and what their occupation was. If any of your ancestors were famous(or indeed infamous) I’ll let you know!

Completed or work in progress family trees can only be accessed by you on my website Your Ancestors. I also provide spreadsheets listing all of your ancestors and maps showing where they lived at each census.
Get in touch today if you want your family tree researched.
